Yakiniku

Yakiniku, meaning "grilled meat", is a Japanese term which, in its broadest sense, refers to grilled meat dishes. Yakiniku originally referred to the "barbecue" of western food.

500 grams beef
1 onion
1-2 garlic cloves
50 milliliters beef broth or chicken broth
1 red bell pepper
1 scallion (or green onion)
1 teaspoon sesame seeds
1-2 tablespoons sesame oil
1 tablespoon mirin ( a kind of rice wine, but with a lower alcohol content and higher sugar content)
1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon corn starch (or maize starch) or potato starch
