Sate lilit Bali

Sate lilit is a satay variant from Balinese cuisine. This satay is made from minced beef, chicken, fish, pork, or even turtle meat, which is then mixed with grated coconut, thick coconut milk, lemon juice, shallots, and pepper. Wound around bamboo, sugar cane or lemon grass sticks, it is then grilled on charcoal.

Ingredients

500 grams of fish fillet
200-300 grams of shrimp
100 grams of grated coconut (or desiccated coconut)
15-20 lemon grasses (substitute: bamboo skewers)
1 onion
2-3 garlic cloves
1-2 kaffir lime leaves
red chili peppers, at will
1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon of pepper powder
1 teaspoon of salt
5-8 grams of shrimp paste
1 tablespoon of grated palm sugar
1 tablespoon of cooking oil or butter
