Ayam gota

Ayam Gota (chicken Gota) is a recipe from Batak Toba, a big tribe in Sumatera island. Ayam Gota's recipe is using blood. No wonder that the colour of the dish looked very dark. I used mixed chicken liver as blood substitute.

Ingredients

1 whole chicken
200 grams of chicken liver
1 red onion (or purple onion)
4 garlic cloves
2 centimeters of galangal
2 centimeters of ginger
chili peppers, at will
2 lemon grasses
5 candlenuts
1 teaspoon of Sichuan pepper (or andaliman)
1-2 teaspoons of coriander seed powder
1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
1-2 teaspoons of salt
1/2 lemon
2-3 tablespoons of cooking oil
